Does
Your Company Benefit From Your Employee Benefits Program?
When Employees Underutilize Benefits, It Can Cost You Money
According to a recent survey conducted by our corporate
communications firm PL Communications (PLC), 50% of corporate Human Resource
professionals said that employees do not fully use benefits such
as Employee Assistance Programs, Vision Plans, and Flexible
Spending Accounts.
These programs typically cost little for employers to offer,
but lead to more productivity, fewer absences, business
cost-savings and income tax liability reductions.
Employees Have a High Interest Level In Their Benefits
Three-quarters of the HR executives we surveyed said that
employees are very interested in their benefits programs.
However, most of these same companies don’t conduct
employee benefits communications.
Benefits Help You Attract and Retain Employees
Employees see benefits as an additional form of compensation.
In a tight economy where salary increases are lower and less
frequent, benefits take on greater importance. They are viewed
by employees as a symbol of how much their employer cares about
their well-being.
This perception is one of the most critical factors in a
company's ability to attract, engage, and retain the talent it
needs to be successful.
Your employees are your most valuable asset. After investing
in benefits, it's worth the investment in your employees to
address their concerns, keep them informed, and promote good
employee relations.
